Booker distilled his admonishment with one sentiment — “What we are saying about other individuals says extra about us than it does about them” — before McCain steered the dialog back to the talk of firearms.

McCain had extra to say on Twitter after she was criticized for her line of questioning, writing, “No less than Beto is trustworthy about the truth that he needs to take our weapons away.”

A day earlier on The View, moderator Whoopi Goldberg halted the show to inform McCain, who joined the show full-time two years in the past, to “exhibit respect” when talking about one another.
